Meet Melanie
Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (CA), Licensed Professional Counselor (TX), and Licensed Mental Health Counselor (WA & FL), and have been providing therapy to clients in the UK and in the US for over 14 years. My experience in the field of Mental Health spans over 25 years and across 4 countries, supporting people from around the world from varying socio-economic, academic/entrepreneurial, ethnic, racial, religious, and non-religious backgrounds. I have experience working with a diverse range of clientele across a wide array of presenting issues and age ranges.
The breadth and diversity of my experience and training allow me to focus on of all the things going on for my client. No one has just one aspect of their lives that is impacting them. Life is a complex mosaic, and it takes looking at the whole picture not just one piece to bring harmony to your life.
Because of this breadth of non-traditional/out-of-the-box life experience, I tend to work more from an existential and person-centered lens. I have training in different modalities of therapy, however, my perspective and approach to therapy is rooted in a non-pathologizing stance. I work from your lived experience.
I believe that our struggles and differences – both seen and unseen – affect many parts of our lives. It can be severe in certain parts, and subtle in many other parts that may go unnoticed. I look to provide help in healing as a whole and in every aspect of your life.
I hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the United States. I also had psychotherapy training included a Certificate in Psychotherapy & Counselling from Regent's University London and a clinical placement at the King’s College Hospital London - Counselling and Psychotherapy Department. I am licensed to practice in California (License Number 11761), Washington State (License Number LH60902006), Texas (License Number 94786), and I am registered to practice via telehealth (virtual sessions) for persons residing in Florida (Registration Number TPMC1642). I am a member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS). I am also certified with EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association) and am passionate about Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy.

“Imagine if people were jigsaw pieces and the whole of the jigsaw represented the human race, each piece a different colour and size and all of them with unique characteristics. But that doesn’t mean to say that an individual piece doesn’t ‘fit’ and should be left in the box, whilst all the other pieces join together. Every one of those pieces helps to make up the ‘whole picture’ and should be valued for what they bring. We shouldn’t leave people in boxes and we should always make sure they are included, regardless of their individuality.”
